This morning Emily was in our room, and we had the blinds open. She would walk towards the window and the sun would shine right into her eyes. Then she would cover her eyes and say "Ow! My Eyes!" Then she'd play with us for a while and then go over to the window and do it all over again.
Tonight after supper she started saying "Jump!" and then jumping up and down. Brian and I were counting to 3 so we could jump at the same time, since we had to play, too. Soon she was counting on her own and jumping up and down. "1, 2, 3, jump!" She has so much energy!
Emily has always liked looking at pictures. She has even started saying "cheese" whenever someone takes a picture. But now she's walking around with anything she can stick infront of her face (a little toy or mirror or anything) and says "cheese" like she's taking a picture.
She is also quite mothering at times. When I rock Joseph before I put him down for naps, Emily will get her baby and rock in her little rocking chair and sing along with me. We sing Jesus Loves Me and I Am Jesus's Little Lamb. She doesn't know all the words, but some of them are definately there. It's really cute to listen to. And other times she'll squeeze the foot of her one doll (because it squeaks) and then says, "Alright, OK, don't cry." Then she squeezes the foot again so that she can soothe her baby again.
These have all been about Emily, but that's because she's so active. Joseph is doing great, too. He's smiling and is a happy boy. Except now he's teething, too. There aren't any teeth showing yet, but he is sure chewing on things and drooling. Sometimes you can tell it's really bothering him. He's also used to Emily giving him big hugs and kisses. He doesn't complain when she's too close, but she sure doesn't like it if she gets drooled on! Here's one of his smiles for you (and yes, it's in sepia).
